In association with NextEra, StayLive is pleased to bring international Human and Organisational Performance expert,  Rob Fisher to Auckland.

With the Gibson Judgement now bringing WAD vs WAI into the mainstream HSW conversation, we need to ask:

What is the next logical step to create better outcomes for our workplaces, workers, and work?

Rob Fisher has decades of experience in high-hazard industries, working across 40 countries with clients in petrochemicals, oil and gas, utilities, and manufacturing. As an author, executive mentor, and international keynote speaker, he is a leading voice on safety, human and organisational learning, operational excellence, and leadership.

He joins us in New Zealand to bring a practical perspective on a crucial challenge: bridging the gap between Work as Imagined (WAI) and Work as Done (WAD). In many organisations, work is designed and planned one way, but actually happens differently due to real-world constraints. Rob will explore why this gap exists and, more importantly, how to integrate WAD into everyday work to drive better outcomes.

Why Attend?

Health, Safety, and Wellbeing (HSW) is at a crossroads. Several major shifts are reshaping the landscape:

  • The ministerial review of the legislation

  • The Gibson judgement

  • The restructure and strategic re-direction of the Regulator (WorkSafe NZ)

This event is about supporting StayLive members and strengthening the industry's ability to respond to these challenges together. As an industry body, StayLive has a role to play in shaping what happens next—both at the frontline and through industry-wide collaboration.

We have an opportunity to shift from compliance-driven, risk-averse safety to a practical, risk-capable approach—one that helps the electrical industry navigate the complexities of modern work.

This is more than a discussion—it’s a chance to equip members with insights and tools to take meaningful action.
